One Water Vision

One Water Vision

The One Water Vision initiative: for global cooperation on water

Water is at the heart of today's major international challenges: climate change, food security, biodiversity, territorial stability. Yet access to it remains unequal, and its management often inadequate.
To respond to this urgent need, several international leaders, have launched the One Water Summit in December 2024. The aim: to make water a global political priority and strengthen cooperation between countries.
This summit gave rise to the One Water Vision initiative: a scientific project that mobilizes space technologies to better understand, monitor and manage water resources

To accelerate the collection and delivery of water services, the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), the International Network for Basin Organizations (INBO) and an International Research Consortium (called “One Water Vision IRC”) are agreeing to cooperate in the framework of the “One Water Vision” initiative.
